Former Manchester United star Ravel Morrison has been facing a number of issues on and off the field. He was once spoken of as the next big thing from English football, but his impact has reduced in the last few years. He is currently with West Ham United, but he has spent the last few seasons on loan deals elsewhere after being unable to get first team action at Upton Park. The 20-year-old spent the last season at Birmingham city where he was one of the best players. It looks like he will return to the St Andrews on yet another loan spell.
Despite this, West Ham captain Kevin Nolan has said that he is confident that Morrison is set for great things in the future. Unlike in the past, Nolan says that Morrison is more matured and this is definitely showing in his game. He has praised the loan spell he had at Birmingham because it has really transformed him. Morrison was signed for around £ 1.5 million from Manchester United. It looked like West Ham had finally lost patience with the striker, but manager Sam Allardyce has been using him in the pre-season.
He has also impressed in pre-season with two goals against Sporting Lisbon in the 3-2 victory.
“He has grown up and I think he has come back with a renewed approach. I am going to help him as much as I can by talking to him on and off the pitch. Last year he started like that, but it was all the off-field stuff and his mental attitude to the game. He let himself down with not turning up and things like that. But speaking to (manager) Lee Clark at Birmingham, he said he really worked hard on him and towards the end had him on board. That’s what you got to have with Rav,” said Nolan.
