The Birmingham City assistant manager Terry McDermott has said that he expects the former Manchester United striker Ravel Morrison to become one of the best players in the game in the future. The 19-year-old striker is currently on a season long loan deal at the St Andrews. He recently scored his first goal for the club. Following the match, the assistant manager has said that he is extremely impressed with the striker. Ravel Morrison has a history of being a troublesome kid, which led to the Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson not being very keen on retaining him.
He moved to West Ham United last season on a free transfer, although Manchester United were eligible to receive a transfer fee for him. However, he has found it games hard to come by at West Ham United following their promotion to the Premier league. He has now been sent on a loan deal to Birmingham City, who have been struggling in the Championship this season. He recently scored his first goal for the club in the 3-2 defeat at the hands of Hull City. After the match, Terry McDermott praised the youngster by saying that he has all the qualities to be at the top of the game.
“He’s a great talent. I know he’s got a reputation but he’s a great kid and he wants to do well here. He loves being here and wants to be involved. He’s got the ability to go right to the top and he will do if he listens to the right people, like the manager and the coaching staff. We’ve all helped him but we know there’s more to come,” said McDermott after the match. Birmingham find themselves closer to the relegation zone, as they are just five points above the 18th placed Sheffield Wednesday.
